These trials failed to demonstrate an important enhancement of efficacy with concomitant administration of ORENCIA with TNF antagonists; therefore, concurrent therapy with ORENCIA and a TNF antagonist is not recommended.
Concurrent therapy with ORENCIA and TNF antagonists is not recommended [see Warnings and Precautions (5.1) ].
• Concomitant use with a TNF antagonist can increase the risk of infections and serious infections.

While transitioning from TNF antagonist therapy to ORENCIA therapy, patients should be monitored for signs of infection.

Therefore, the concurrent use of RENFLEXIS and abatacept is not recommended [see Drug Interactions (7.1) ] .

In clinical studies, concurrent administration of TNF blockers and abatacept have been associated with an increased risk of infections including serious infections compared with TNF blockers alone, without increased clinical benefit.
An increased risk of serious infections was seen in clinical studies of other TNF blockers used in combination with anakinra or abatacept, with no added clinical benefit.
