Some patients have been able to reverse triglyceride elevation by reduction in weight and restriction of dietary fat and alcohol while continuing isotretinoin or through dosage reduction.
Careful consideration should be given to risk/benefit of ABSORICA/ABSORICA LD in patients who are at higher risk of hypertriglyceridemia (e.g., patients with diabetes, obesity, increased alcohol intake, lipid metabolism disorder or familial history of lipid metabolism disorder).
Wait 36 hours after consumption of alcohol before testing is performed.
