Use of a LABA, including arformoterol tartrate inhalation solution, without an inhaled corticosteroid is contraindicated in patients with asthma.
Use of long-acting beta 2 -adrenergic agonists (LABA) as monotherapy [without inhaled corticosteroids (ICS)] for asthma is associated with an increased risk of asthma-related death.
LABA as monotherapy (without an inhaled corticosteroid) for asthma increases the risk of serious asthma-related events.
Xanthine derivatives, steroids, diuretics, or non-potassium sparing diuretics may potentiate hypokalemia or ECG changes.
Xanthine Derivatives, Steroids, or Diuretics Concomitant treatment with methylxanthine (aminophylline, theophylline), steroids, or diuretics may potentiate any hypokalemic effect of adrenergic agonists including arformoterol tartrate inhalation solution [see Warnings and Precautions (5.7) ].

Lung function (mean forced expiratory volume in 1 second [FEV 1 ] or morning peak expiratory flow [AM PEF]), beta-agonist use, and asthma symptoms should be carefully monitored during withdrawal of oral corticosteroids.
Acute Asthma Episodes Fluticasone Propionate DISKUS is not to be regarded as a bronchodilator and is not indicated for rapid relief of bronchospasm.
Patients should be instructed to contact their physicians immediately when episodes of asthma that are not responsive to bronchodilators occur during the course of treatment with Fluticasone Propionate DISKUS.
If bronchospasm occurs following dosing with Fluticasone Propionate DISKUS, it should be treated immediately with an inhaled, short-acting bronchodilator; Fluticasone Propionate DISKUS should be discontinued immediately; and alternative therapy should be instituted.
