Laboratory Test Interactions Based on reports involving thiazides, bisoprolol fumarate and hydrochlorothiazide tablets may decrease serum levels of protein-bound iodine without signs of thyroid disturbance.
Abrupt withdrawal of beta-blockade may be followed by an exacerbation of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism or may precipitate thyroid storm.

Beta-adrenergic blocking agents: Hyperthyroidism may cause an increased clearance of beta blockers with a high extraction ratio.
A reduced dose of beta-adrenergic blockers may be needed when a hyperthyroid patient becomes euthyroid.
