• Additive sedative effects when used with other CNS depressants including alcohol (5.1)
Since the sedative effects of carisoprodol and other CNS depressants (e.g., alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids, tricyclic antidepressants) may be additive, appropriate caution should be exercised with patients who take more than one of these CNS depressants simultaneously.

Co-administration of CYP2C19 inhibitors, such as omeprazole or fluvoxamine, with carisoprodol could result in increased exposure of carisoprodol and decreased exposure of meprobamate.
CYP2C19 Inhibitors and Inducers Carisoprodol is metabolized in the liver by CYP2C19 to form meprobamate [ see Clinical Pharmacology (12.3) ] .

Because of the potential of topiramate to cause CNS depression, as well as other cognitive and/or neuropsychiatric adverse reactions, TROKENDI XR should be used with extreme caution if used in combination with alcohol and other CNS depressants [see Contraindications (4) and Warnings and Precautions (5.7) ].
CNS Depressants Concomitant administration of topiramate with other CNS depressant drugs or alcohol has not been evaluated in clinical studies.
