HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors and Fibrates Some drugs such as HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors and fibrates may increase the risk of myopathy when combined with colchicine capsules.
From the Gemfibrozil (Lopid) label · effective 2026-05-21
(G) Colchicine Myopathy, including rhabdomyolysis, has been reported with chronic administration of colchicine at therapeutic doses.
Caution should be exercised when prescribing LOPID with colchicine, especially in elderly patients or patients with renal dysfunction.
