What the FDA labels say
From the Lemborexant (DAYVIGO) label · effective 2025-02-24
Risk increases with dose and use with other central nervous system (CNS) depressants.
Co-administration with other CNS depressants (e.g., benzodiazepines, opioids, tricyclic antidepressants, alcohol) increases the risk of CNS depression, which can cause daytime impairment.
Complex sleep behaviors may occur following the first or any subsequent use of DAYVIGO, with or without the concomitant use of alcohol and other CNS depressants [see Drug Interactions ( 7.1 )] .
From the Desipramine (Norpramin) label · effective 2025-07-03
If NORPRAMIN is to be combined with other psychotropic agents such as tranquilizers or sedative/hypnotics, careful consideration should be given to the pharmacology of the agents employed since the sedative effects of NORPRAMIN and benzodiazepines (e.g., chlordiazepoxide or diazepam) are additive.
Both the sedative and anticholinergic effects of the major tranquilizers are also additive to those of NORPRAMIN.
