As with other agents that have anticonvulsant activity, when Valium is used as an adjunct in treating convulsive disorders, the possibility of an increase in the frequency and/or severity of grand mal seizures may require an increase in the dosage of standard anticonvulsant medication.

Since Valium has a central nervous system depressant effect, patients should be advised against the simultaneous ingestion of alcohol and other CNS- depressant drugs during Valium therapy.

Because of the potential of topiramate to cause CNS depression, as well as other cognitive and/or neuropsychiatric adverse reactions, TROKENDI XR should be used with extreme caution if used in combination with alcohol and other CNS depressants [see Contraindications (4) and Warnings and Precautions (5.7) ].
CNS Depressants Concomitant administration of topiramate with other CNS depressant drugs or alcohol has not been evaluated in clinical studies.
