What the FDA labels say
From the Doxylamine and pyridoxine (Doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride) label · effective 2025-12-03
Central nervous system (CNS) depressants: Concurrent use with alcohol or other CNS depressants is not recommended ( 5.1 )
Doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride delayed-release tablets use is not recommended if a woman is concurrently using central nervous system (CNS) depressants including alcohol.
Concurrent use of alcohol and other CNS depressants (such as hypnotic sedatives and tranquilizers) with doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride delayed-release tablets is not recommended.
From the Eszopiclone (Lunesta) label · effective 2025-01-08
The use of LUNESTA with other sedative-hypnotics at bedtime or the middle of the night is not recommended.
Risk increases with dose and use with other CNS depressants and alcohol.
Post-marketing reports have shown that complex sleep behaviors may occur with LUNESTA alone at recommended dosages, with or without the concomitant use of alcohol or other CNS depressants [see Drug Interactions ( 7.1 )] .
Additive effects occur with concomitant use of other CNS depressants (e.g., benzodiazepines, opioids, tricyclic antidepressants, alcohol), including daytime use.
…psychomotor impairment is increased if LUNESTA is taken with less than a full night of sleep remaining (7- to 8 hours); if higher than the recommended dose is taken; if coadministered with other CNS depressants; or coadministered with other drugs that increase the blood levels of eszopiclone [see Dosage and Administration ( 2.3 ) and Clinical Studies ( 14.3 )].
