Fludrocortisone and Tocilizumab: both prescribing labels flag this combination with the strongest language, such as a contraindication, a boxed warning, or an instruction to avoid it.

What the FDA labels say
From the Fludrocortisone (Fludrocortisone Acetate) label · effective 2026-05-06
Chicken pox and measles, for example, can have a more serious or even fatal course in children on immunosuppressant corticosteroids.
Patients who are on immunosuppressant doses of corticosteroids should be warned to avoid exposure to chicken pox or measles and, if exposed, to obtain medical advice.
Children who are on immunosuppressant drugs are more susceptible to infections than healthy children.
From the Tocilizumab (TOFIDENCE) label · effective 2026-05-22
Most patients who developed these infections were taking concomitant immunosuppressants such as methotrexate or corticosteroids.
Patients have presented with disseminated rather than localized disease, and were often taking concomitant immunosuppressants such as methotrexate or corticosteroids which in addition to rheumatoid arthritis may predispose them to infections.
Concomitant Drugs for Treatment of Adult Indications In RA patients, population pharmacokinetic analyses did not detect any effect of methotrexate (MTX), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or corticosteroids on tocilizumab clearance.
In GCA patients, no effect of concomitant corticosteroid on tocilizumab exposure was observed.
