For women with DCIS and for the reduction in breast cancer incidence in women at high risk, tamoxifen is contraindicated in women who require concomitant warfarin-type anticoagulant therapy or in women with a history of deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolus.
Closely monitor coagulation indices for increased anticoagulant effect when used with tamoxifen for metastatic breast cancer or as adjuvant therapy.
Warfarin A marked increase in anticoagulant effect may occur when tamoxifen is used in combination with warfarin.
