Symptomatic awareness of hypoglycemia may be less pronounced in patients with longstanding diabetes, in patients with diabetic nerve disease, in patients using medications that block the sympathetic nervous system (e.g., beta-blockers) [see Drug Interactions ( 7 )] , or in patients who experience recurrent hypoglycemia.
Drugs That May Increase or Decrease the Blood Glucose Lowering Effect of LYUMJEV Drugs: Alcohol, beta-blockers, clonidine, and lithium salts.
Drugs That May Blunt Signs and Symptoms of Hypoglycemia Drugs: Beta-blockers, clonidine, guanethidine, and reserpine.
Drugs that Blunt Hypoglycemia Signs and Symptoms (e.g., beta-blockers, clonidine, guanethidine, and reserpine): Increased frequency of glucose monitoring may be required.

Masking of Hypoglycemic Symptoms in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus Beta-adrenergic blocking agents should be administered with caution in patients subject to spontaneous hypoglycemia or to diabetic patients (especially those with labile diabetes) who are receiving insulin or oral hypoglycemic agents.
