Avoid use in patients with known prolongation, those with hypokalemia, and with other drugs that prolong the QT interval ( 5.11 , 8.5 )
Interactions with Laboratory or Diagnostic Testing Some fluoroquinolones, including Levofloxacin in 5% Dextrose Injection, may produce false-positive urine screening results for opiates using commercially available immunoassay kits.
Confirmation of positive opiate screens by more specific methods may be necessary.
