Activation of Mania/Hypomania Antidepressant treatment can increase the risk of developing a manic or hypomanic episode, particularly in patients with bipolar disorder.
However, there is substantial evidence from placebo-controlled maintenance studies in adults with MDD that antidepressants delay the recurrence of depression.

…are inhibitors of CYP3A4 (e.g., itraconazole, clarithromycin, voriconazole), or known to prolong QT interval including Class 1A antiarrhythmics (e.g., quinidine, procainamide) or Class 3 antiarrhythmics (e.g., amiodarone, sotalol), certain antipsychotic medications (e.g., ziprasidone, chlorpromazine, thioridazine), and certain antibiotics (e.g., gatifloxacin).
CNS Depressants: RALDESY may enhance effects of alcohol, barbiturates, or other CNS depressants ( 7 ).
Central Nervous System (CNS) Depressants Clinical Impact: RALDESY may enhance the response CNS depressants.
Intervention: Patients should be counseled that RALDESY may enhance the response to alcohol, barbiturates, and other CNS depressants.
