Risks From Concomitant Use With Benzodiazepines Or Other CNS Depressants Concomitant use of opioids with benzodiazepines or other central nervous system (CNS) depressants, including alcohol, may result in profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma, and death.
Reserve concomitant prescribing of Morphine Sulfate Oral Solution and benzodiazepines or other CNS depressants for use in patients for whom alternative treatment options are inadequate [see Warnings and Precautions ( 5.4 ), Drug Interactions ( 7 )] .

• Central Nervous System Depression Xyrem (sodium oxybate) is a CNS depressant.
Abuse or misuse of illicit GHB, either alone or in combination with other CNS depressants, is associated with CNS adverse reactions, including seizure, respiratory depression, decreases in the level of consciousness, coma, and death [see Warnings and Precautions ( 5.2 )].
Central Nervous System Depression • Xyrem is a CNS depressant, and respiratory depression can occur with Xyrem use ( 5.1 , 5.4 )
