• Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs): Reduced diuretic, natriuretic and antihypertensive effects; increased risk of renal toxicity ( 7.3 )
Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Agents Including Selective Cyclooxygenase-2 Inhibitors (COX-2 Inhibitors) Olmesartan medoxomil In patients who are elderly, volume-depleted (including those on diuretic therapy), or with compromised renal function, co-administration of NSAIDs, including selective COX-2 inhibitors, with angiotensin II receptor antagonists (including…
Monitor renal function periodically in patients receiving olmesartan medoxomil and NSAID therapy.
Hydrochlorothiazide In some patients the administration of an NSAID can reduce the diuretic, natriuretic, and antihypertensive effects of thiazide diuretics.
The antihypertensive effect of angiotensin II receptor antagonists, including olmesartan medoxomil, may be attenuated by NSAIDs including selective COX-2 inhibitors.

Patients at greatest risk of this reaction are those with impaired renal function, heart failure, liver dysfunction, those taking diuretics and ACE inhibitors, and the elderly.
Furosemide Clinical studies, as well as post marketing observations, have shown that Salsalate tablets, USP can reduce the natriuretic effect-of furosemide and thiazides in some patients.
During concomitant therapy with NSAIDs, the patient should be observed closely for signs of renal failure (see PRECAUTIONS, Renal Effects ), as well as to assure diuretic efficacy.
Patients taking thiazides or loop diuretics may have impaired response to these therapies when taking NSAIDs.
DRUG INTERACTIONS ACE-inhibitors Reports suggest that NSAIDs may diminish the antihypertensive effect of ACE-inhibitors.
