Table 2: Drugs That are Contraindicated with EDURANT and EDURANT PED Drug Class Contraindicated Drugs in Class Clinical Comment Anticonvulsants Carbamazepine Oxcarbazepine Phenobarbital Phenytoin Potential for significant decreases in rilpivirine plasma concentrations due to CYP3A enzyme induction, which may result in loss of virologic response.
Antacids should only be administered either at least 2 hours before or at least 4 hours after EDURANT or EDURANT PED. ↓ rilpivirine (concomitant intake) Anticonvulsants: carbamazepine oxcarbazepine phenobarbital phenytoin ↓ rilpivirine Coadministration is contraindicated with EDURANT or EDURANT PED [see Contraindications (4) ] .
Coadministration of EDURANT or EDURANT PED and drugs that induce CYP3A may result in decreased plasma concentrations of rilpivirine and loss of virologic response and possible resistance to rilpivirine or to the class of NNRTIs.
