Omeprazol (Prilosec) ist ein Protonenpumpenhemmer (PPI), der die Menge an Säure senkt, die der Magen bildet. Es wird bei Sodbrennen und Reflux (GERD), Magen- und Zwölffingerdarmgeschwüren, erosiver Ösophagitis, zur Eradikation von Helicobacter pylori (mit Antibiotika) und bei seltenen Erkrankungen mit Säureüberproduktion angewendet.
