Risk factors for the development of hyperkalemia include renal insufficiency, diabetes, combination use with ARBs or ACEIs [see Contraindications (4) , Warnings and Precautions (5.2) , and Clinical Studies (14.3) ] , NSAIDs, or potassium supplements or potassium sparing diuretics.

Monitor renal function periodically in patients receiving aliskiren and NSAID therapy.
Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs): Increased risk of renal impairment and loss of antihypertensive effect.

( 5.3 Hepatotoxicity) Hypertension: Patients taking some antihypertensive medications may have impaired response to these therapies when taking NSAIDs.
Intervention: During concomitant use of Naproxen Suspension with diuretics, observe patients for signs of worsening renal function, in addition to assuring diuretic efficacy including antihypertensive effects [ see Warnings and Precautions ( 5.6 Renal Toxicity and Hyperkalemia ) ].
Monitor patients to assure diuretic efficacy including antihypertensive effects.
ACE Inhibitors, Angiotensin Receptor Blockers, and Beta-Blockers Clinical Impact: NSAIDs may diminish the antihypertensive effect of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), or beta-blockers (including propranolol).
ACE inhibitors, Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARB), or Beta-Blockers: Concomitant use with Naproxen Suspension may diminish the antihypertensive effect of these drugs.
