• Statins: Avoid simvastatin doses greater than 10 mg daily.
Follow label recommendations for concomitant use of other statins with a CYP3A and P-gp inhibitor like dronedarone.
Other Statins Because of multiple mechanisms of interaction with statins (CYPs and transporters), follow statin label recommendations for use with CYP3A and P-gp inhibitors such as dronedarone.

LIPITOR plasma levels can be significantly increased with concomitant administration of inhibitors of CYP3A4 and transporters.

Anti-Viral Medications Clinical Impact: Atorvastatin plasma levels were significantly increased with concomitant administration of LIPITOR with many anti-viral medications, which are inhibitors of CYP3A4 and/or transporters (e.g., BCRP, OATP1B1/1B3, P-gp, MRP2, and/or OAT2) [see Clinical Pharmacology (12.3) ] .
