• Concomitant administration of rifampin or rifabutin reduces atovaquone concentrations; concomitant use with MEPRON oral suspension is not recommended.
Concomitant administration of MEPRON oral suspension and rifampin or rifabutin is not recommended.
Rifampin/Rifabutin Concomitant administration of rifampin or rifabutin and MEPRON oral suspension is known to reduce atovaquone concentrations [see Clinical Pharmacology ( 12.3 )] .

Coadministration of rifampin with atovaquone is not recommended.
Other Interactions Atovaquone: Concomitant use of rifampin with atovaquone decrease concentrations of atovaquone and increase concentrations of rifampin which may increase the risk of rifampin toxicities.
