What the FDA labels say
From the Theophylline label · effective 2026-01-29
Dosage Increases: Increases in the dose of theophylline should not be made in response to an acute exacerbation of symptoms of chronic lung disease since theophylline provides little added benefit to inhaled beta2 -selective agonists and systemically administered corticosteroids in this circumstance and increases the risk of adverse effects.
From the Beclomethasone (QVAR REDIHALER) label · effective 2024-06-25
Treat bronchospasm immediately with inhaled, short-acting bronchodilator and discontinue QVAR REDIHALER.
Instruct patients to contact their physician immediately if episodes of asthma that are not responsive to bronchodilators occur during the course of treatment with QVAR REDIHALER.
If inhalation induced bronchospasm occurs following dosing with QVAR REDIHALER, it should be treated immediately with an inhaled, short‑acting bronchodilator.
