Gabapentin (Neurontin, Gralise, Horizant) ist ein Antiepileptikum. Es ist für Nervenschmerzen nach Gürtelrose und, zusammen mit anderen Medikamenten, für fokale Anfälle zugelassen. Es wird auch beim Restless-Legs-Syndrom und, im Off-Label-Gebrauch, bei anderen Nervenschmerzen verordnet. Formen mit sofortiger Freisetzung werden in der Regel dreimal täglich in gleichmäßigen Abständen eingenommen, und die Dosis wird über mehrere Tage schrittweise erhöht. Die Retardpräparate werden anders dosiert und nicht gegeneinander ausgetauscht.
