Zolpidem (Ambien, Ambien CR, Edluar, Zolpimist, Intermezzo) ist ein Schlaf- und Beruhigungsmittel, das für die Kurzzeitbehandlung von Schlaflosigkeit verordnet wird, hauptsächlich bei Einschlafstörungen. Es ist eine kontrollierte Substanz. Es wird einmal pro Nacht direkt vor dem Zubettgehen auf nüchternen Magen eingenommen, nur wenn bis zum Aufstehen 7 bis 8 Stunden bleiben. Frauen und ältere Erwachsene beginnen in der Regel mit 5 mg, Männer mit 5 oder 10 mg. Es trägt einen umrahmten Warnhinweis (Boxed Warning) zu Schlafwandeln, Autofahren im Schlaf und anderen Tätigkeiten, die in nicht vollständig wachem Zustand ausgeführt werden.
